In September 1913, seven members of the Jeffersonville, NY community decided to establish a new commercial bank – The First National Bank of Jeffersonville (Jeff Bank). The new bank opened its doors in a building constructed for less than $7,800. When seventy-five area residents arrived that first Monday to open accounts, the Bank took in around $10,000. This was an obvious indication that there was a need for a community bank in this small village in the foothills of the Catskills.

By 1962, there were no fewer than eleven local banks in Sullivan County. Of those eleven, only Jeff Bank remains today. In 1967, the first branch office was opened in Eldred followed through the years by others in Liberty, Loch Sheldrake, Monticello, Narrowsburg, Callicoon, Livingston Manor, Wal-Mart, White Lake, Wurtsboro and Bloomingburg. By offering residents convenient and secure banking, Jeff Bank has become the community bank of choice in Sullivan County, NY, growing and flourishing.
